Mulch in Perth — bagged, bulk bags & delivery

Mulch is the cheapest water-saving upgrade a Perth garden can get — a 50–75 mm layer cuts evaporation dramatically before summer bites. We stock pine bark, black mulch and WA's own lupin mulch in one-tonne bulk bags and easy-carry bags.

Bulk bags mean no pile dumped on the verge: craned onto the driveway by our delivery partner, or collected on a trailer, then barrowed out at your pace with the garden staying clean.

What we stock

  • Pine bark mulch (fine and chunky grades)
  • Black and natural feature mulches
  • Lupin mulch — the WA soil-feeder
  • Pea straw and vegie-bed mulches
  • Bagged mulch for small beds and top-ups

Not sure how much you need? Use our mulch calculator in Guides — one bulk bag covers roughly 10–13 m² at 75 mm.

FAQs

Mulch — questions

How much mulch do I need per square metre?
At the recommended 75 mm depth, 1 m³ covers about 13 m². Measure your beds, multiply length × width, and our mulch calculator converts it straight into bulk bags and bags.
Which mulch is best for Perth's climate?
Chunky, open mulches like pine bark last longest and let water through; lupin mulch feeds sandy soil as it breaks down and suits natives and vegie beds. Fine mulches can repel water once dry — keep them for looks, not water saving.
When should I mulch in Perth?
Late spring, before the heat arrives — after soil-wetter and a deep watering. Mulching damp soil in October/November locks moisture in for summer; mulching bone-dry soil locks the dryness in instead.
