- What size poly pipe does Perth reticulation normally use?
- Most Perth station runs are 19 mm low-density poly, with 25 mm on longer or higher-flow runs and 13 mm feeding drip lines. Match what's in the ground unless you're fixing a known pressure problem.
- Can new poly fittings join onto my old pipe?
- Yes — repair couplings and universal joiners bridge old imperial pipe to modern metric poly. Bring a short offcut of the old pipe in; wall thickness matters as much as diameter.
- Do I need clamps on barbed poly fittings?
- On mains-pressure runs, always. On low-pressure station runs a well-seated barb usually holds, but a clamp is cheap insurance where a blowout would flood a bed or undermine paving.
